How many 2010 spots remain?

SMU has twenty-two 2010 football commitments right now. I suppose there will be something of a late surge after the Bowl Game. How many spots are left to give? Maybe this is in the Recruiting heading somewhere but will some one make an udate?
Thanks.

While In Hawaii, JJ made the comment that he anticipated total commitments of "24 or 25." Not sure how this works against current roster though.

I think that includes greyshirts as well.

If he got 10 better players, he'd grayshirt the lesser ones, or JUCO the less academic ones...we have plenty to give.

For openers, I agree with Charleston Pony. After that another DT and then some OL.

A greyshirt enrolls in school later. Are they allowed to participate in any football / team activities prior to enrolling?

The grayshirts can count towards the 2009 *or* 2010 recruiting class. Did the 2009 class use all 25 initial spots?
JJ played the grayshirt game a LOT at Hawaii, and it is nice that teams have the flexibility to count them to either of 2 recruiting classes. That way if a player does not qualify or something else happens, the spot isn't wasted.

i would venture to guess that there may still be some guys on the team that don't fit that may be left from PB's classes. i wouldn't be totally surprised if there were some cuts to the current roster which would free up some additional slots.

Plus, Coach Jones has said repeatedly that there are several guys on this year's "scholarship cap" who aren't even on the team anymore — former players who retain their scholarships — so even though our senior class is small in number, we have more spaces to fill. My bet is that we sign the full 25, if not one or two extra.

When has Coach Jones said anything about a so called "Scholarship Cap". You said that he said it repeatedly. My question to you is where is the quote? I did think there may be some roster adjustments again thiws year though.
