That's what I was thinking as soon as I heard about the Leach suspension.
If I had a son who is committed to Texas Tech, and I heard about the accusations about Leach — whether the allegations are true or not — I immediately would begin revisiting the recruiting process with my son. That's the kind of rumor that scares parents. Even if Leach is vindicated of all claims, it's still going to raise questions among recruits and parents.
With that said, which Tech commits could SMU potentially steal?

Have some of our east Texas contacts contact the Coleman kid...and we'll take the guy named for a President too. Surely we have some pull to get Urell Johnson too. The rest of 'em...meh, they can keep em

I can see this: Padron to Kadron for a long TD!

Don't know how we'd manage the greyshirts, etc., but put me down for wanting to pluck:
Boone, Bush, Coleman, Corker, Dial, Johnson, Lawson, James Polk, Richards, Smith and Townsend.
Obviously I don't know anything more about these guys than anyone else here does — just looking at their size and considering positions where we could use more talent/size/depth, etc.
Seriously — think Padron might be able to sway Richards? Couldn't hurt to have another big DE. Never can have too many of those.

Regarding Scotty Young:
According to Rivals he had five offers to choose from. Of those schools, two (SMU and Arizona) have received commitments from other QB prospects. Two others (Baylor and Rice) haven’t signed any QB commitments. If he decided to bounce from Tech, which is a big if, considering that this whole thing could blow over long before signing day, I think that Baylor and Rice would have a lot of appeal. At Baylor, he sits the bench behind Griffin for two seasons and comes in to start as a Sophomore. He’ll be competing with Bryce Petty at that point, but that might not be preferable to waiting an extra year for Padron to graduate, then fighting it out with Kaiser and whoever else is lured to the hilltop. Then there’s Rice where he could potentially step right in and compete with Fanuzzi. Though the questions about whether or not Rice can make it in the post Clemet/Dillard era have to carry some weight.
Anyhow, IF Young has a change of heart I think it’ll be an uphill battle to bring him in

I've heard he's playing baseball if he gets drafted high enough (and was planning do so before Closet Gate)

No such town as Brazoswood it is in the fine city of Clute where they have a Mosquito Festival with the Ms. Quito Pagaent. I spent my freshman year at Brazoswood before moving to Austin.
