A quiet January?

Basically, a yes or no question and the answers will be revealed by Feb. 3.

But are we expecting any on-campus visits for these last two weekends of the month? Recruiting has changed so much to where this month doesn't have the zest that it used to. Not a big deal but you can tell how it has evolved.

Mr. O'Guin starts classes on 1/19. Hope he's ready and has a conditioning plan all lined up.

We have recruits coming in this weekend, and the next weekend. Most of our commits will be here, along with a small handful of players we are still recruiting, and potential recruited walkon candidates.

What are the odds we can grab 2 or 3 more 3-stars ? Are our remaining prospects rated this highly ?

Rivals is reporting that a commitment is going to go down later in the week.

As for our remaining targets there are some rumors swirling that we are looking a couple of kids who are currently committed to Big 12 programs who initiated the conversation with SMU. Star ranking is one thing but one thing old Stallion is right about is that the offers a recruit has is truly the best barometer for evaluating his talent.

On January 22, Ben Gottschalk who is a 3 star OL will be taking his official visit. He is a 6'5", 260 lb, 2 time first team all- league and 2 time first team all- state lineman from California. Coach Klemm found him when was watching game film when the Notre Dame team played Kline Oak in Arlington and Ben was wrecking everybody. This guy played both ways. You are going to like this kid and he is very excited to see the school.

That would be a HUGE pickup.

A commitment from a senior defensive player to be exact, hopefully it's Bubba Vactor.

We are still in dire need of more interior d-linemen. Will this ever be addressed?

My understanding is three lineman ,one offensive and two defensive are the highest priority in the final 2010 recruiting drive to Feb. 3. We should know more next week.
