I just love how it's ok for people to start a game thread - where they are literally transcribing the copyrighted radio or tv broadcast - and that's OK.

But it's not ok to post current recruiting information - although it is ok to have a "sticky" of the current Commitment List (which is the same damn thing).

I guess some people just get the bigger picture when it comes to these sites.

The4 sticky is of publicly acknowledged commitments. That is why it is okay.

Everyone take a deep breath. Names and positions and high schools are not private information.

I think renaming it either of these would be a copyright infringement.

Words are not private information. I know how you are trying to spin this and why but when you get the info and the fact that we are going after him from the premium info it is. Bottom line is it was in premium info that why it was marked "in" (like Cayou was) it was not free. Had the Scout guy not worked hard to get the info the "Name" would not have been posted here. But I know what is going on it just shows no integrity (or a dirty way to get recruiting info over here) but what is that now a days.

names and visit lists can be private information as long as its not verified from an independent public source-which could be as simple as someone seeing him on campus. or by publication in the public domain. But premium information taken from a recruiting service is not the public domain-that's why commitments aren't immediately reported on commitment lists that are not publicly announced-eg Jeffcoat and Hicks announcement ceremonies

I think one of the best things to do would be for those who subscribe to the recruiting sites stop posting links to those sites on PF. I think the recruiting sites are great and provide a lot of good info and are well worth the money. For those who want up to date recruting information for a nominal fee sign up for one or both - you know where to go.

I also happen to think Pony Fans is great and there are a lot of really good dialogs on here and the features are top notch.

If you find some recruting news from a public source, ie: DMN, ESPN, some obscure local newspaper etc than post it for everyone.

Thats my two cents.

if youre already on one or both of those sites you dont need a link on pf to let you know about info on rivals/scout, so really im not sure what the point of posting the links is.

And IF you are a paid member of Scout, they have totally new information on a recruit that all would like to know, that is NOT on any lists, including Rivals. But just wait until he commits or not maybe tonight, and thats ok and/or just wait until Wednesday.

What about when some post premium info with no link to act like they did all the work with no link. Then can a link be posted under that? Because that scenario should happen before the day is out as Scout has just broke another recruiting story.
