Nice job pulling together all that info from various sources. 2 thumbs ups.
Q: As a former defensive end, I like the fact that we're recruiting a bunch of 'em. But what gives? Off the top of my head, it seems like half the 2011 class is made up of DEs. Are we assuming we can bulk some of them up and we'll have fast, athletic nose tackles. Will some of these guys bulk up and become fast, athletic O-tackles? Jumbo linebackers? Are we just recruiting "best athletes"? Like on offense how oftentimes the best athlete on the team is a QB and when they go to college they convert to their more natural skill position??
It seems to me that they like High School DEs for the same reason they like High School OTs: Versatility. They have the potential to start at either DE, OLB (in the 3-4), or, if they eat enough biscuits, NT (I know, that's a stretch). But at any rate, the ability to go either DE or OLB in the 3-4 makes taking High School DEs make a lot of sense, just as our OL could someday be dominated by young men who all played OT in High school.
That's just a guess. I'm sure someone will prove me wrong within a few hours.
