sure glad we're not dealing with this:

"Fellow freshman Jesse Scroggins would have been next in line to assume the duties, but he has yet to be ruled eligible by the NCAA clearinghouse."

at least, Kaiser is enrolled.

Might be a reason Kiffin tried to steal Kaiser away shortly before signing day. (I think I remember hearing that)

Wasn't Kiffen recruiting Kaiser at Tennessee before he left?

I guess. I don't recall any of it, though.
here's some evidence of that.

you're right. I guess, I was focused on the fact that Scroggins was being recruited and viewed as 'big fish that got away'. in that respect, it turns out to be a fortunate miss.
still, this seems to be very, very late to still be hanging in uncertainty. it's a couple of weeks before the start of the season, and almost two months after our very late notification to the two players we disappointed.

oh, I see.
at this late date, isn't a redshirt pretty likely? what a waste it would be if they used him this year (if injuries mandate it), and he's missed fall camp.
wonder if he's almost better off taking a year at a prep school to get his academics on track.

Jones said on a CSTV signing day special that USC and Tennessee tried to steal Kaiser away just before he signed. I was floored when I heard that.

Actually something very similar could be happening to us with Leslie Smith in bball. And Smith would not have redshirted.

I thought Smith is enrolled at SMU in classes this Fall. NCAA said he can practice but not play...

Every time I see this thread I am reminded that Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

This is for the elder statesmen on board. Others need to google.
