Story on Kevin Robertson WR Northland Christian (Hou)

Postby RE Tycoon » Sun Jan 02, 2011 10:08 am

This looks to me like a puff piece, but he has the measureables and stats, so I wanted to see if anyone has knowledge of him or has seen him play. Offers from NTSU and Wyoming with "interest" from TCU according to this story, so that might be telling as to his talent level, or lack thereof.

He is the prototype WR that we could use in this offense, just don't know if he has the talent.

Kevin Robertson can play.

The 6-4, 218-pound wide receiver from Northland led Greater Houston in receiving yards and touchdowns, recording 68 receptions for 1,490 yards and 25 TDs. He also had four rushing scores.

"He's an Andre Johnson type," Nelson said. "He's just tall and physical, and it's awful tough to put a corner out there who can out-athlete him. He's big and he's strong and he can jump out of the gym."

And yet his only offers heading into 2011 were from North Texas and Wyoming.

Here's his profile on Rivals: http://rivals.yahoo.com/smu/football/re ... son-109558

There's also a video on his profile, and while his body looks legit, he's very slow. He never ran away from anyone and that has to be a concern with the level of competition. It was also very odd that he averaged 20+ yards a catch, yet most of the plays on his highlight tape were for short gains.

After you see this i think you will change your mind about everything that was said about this kid. In my opinion this kid has the talent to be a special player at any level.

I pretty much felt the same way after watching a couple of his videos. As far as I could tell, he never made a play after the catch. His future could be at TE in college. He has a frame that looks like it could be bulked up quite a bit with a college S&C coach.
