Cornerback James Richardson — who said he prefers to go by "J.R." — was offered last week by Minnesota, and offered a trip north for an official visit this coming weekend. But Richardson said he is not going ("they play outside up there!"), and that despite his consideration of a Michigan offer, he "was locked in 100 percent to SMU all along. I was just checking other places to make sure I made the right decision, and I did."

If you haven't seen this kid's video, its electric. He is extremely fast and deadly in the return game. I think we'll have two explosive kids on kickoff/punts with Acker and Richardson. Also Nyle Johnson ain't too shabby.

Also I wouldn't say we've "thoroughly" addressed our corner concerns. A JUCO would have been nice ala Kip Daily but we were just too late to the race for him. I think the corners we have in this class (Richardson, Kitchen, Hubert) are very solid but they're all going to be true freshmen. It would be great if Parks/Acker/Keith Robinson were able to step up and be a clear-cut #2 corner opposite Crawford.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad we beat the Gophers for this kid but the weather isn't that bad until mid-to-late November.
I enjoyed 44 degrees for Minnesota-Ohio State on Oct. 30. That's football weather.

No. Football weather is a nice 65-70 in late October in Dallas

I think this kid will eventually be the most successful recruit in this class during his time at SMU. When you watch his video you see that he has "it".
Moreland might be more highly touted (rightfully so), and along with certain other recruits may have a more successful pro career, but I have very little doubt that J.R. will be an electric part of this team for the next 4-5 years. I expect him to have an immediate impact on special teams and then we'll see if he has an immediate impact at DB depending on how he picks up the D and adjusts to the college game.
Next to Moreland, this is the guy I wanted to stick most out of our commitments.
PonyPride, did you get this information after the Reinbold post about dirty recruiting or before? Thanks for the update.

Where have you seen video? Rivals only has some WR vs DB video.
Edit: nevermind found some on Youtube...

Just a small correction, Acker/Parks/Smith. Smith is being moved to corner because the young safeties are ready to play. Smith started the bowl game, but I think he is going to have a hard time fighting off Acker.
Frosh corners won't play unless we are in a lot of trouble. I would not be surprised to see a JUCO taken even though we missed on Daily just to push Acker and Parks and make us 4 deep (for once) at that position.
