2012 Recruiting NeedsAssume that everyone makes their grades and that there are no serious injuries and that no one transfers out. What will be the most important recruiting needs next year?
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsThis is the Year to get the Superstar QB-he'd be in the thick of the QB race when Padron graduates but you can sell him on only sitting one year
CB, NG, Outside Receiver and fill in with other prospects "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsLinemen, linemen, and more linemen. I'm kind of biased here but you can't have enough of them. Depth and competition is what make a line (off and def) good. I realize we got several this year but several in one year is not enough. Bring in the meat.
Re: 2012 Recruiting Needsin every class we need 2 stud receivers (the big fast kind, not the little quick kind), a crazy mean D lineman, 2 almost criminal LB's, a shutdown corner, and 3 GIANT o lineman. Fill in around the above as needed.
agree i would think by now JJ could get the rock star QB of the future in here.

Bus? Is that you? Derail the Frogs!
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsYea recruit a top prospect at qb with the pitch of a redshirt and 4 years of starting football with all NCAA records in the cross-hairs
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsFor any of the players at the positions suggested I'd add the phrase, "If you beat out players who have been in th system two and three years."
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsNeeds- super QB, cb,ng, wide rec, and lots of nasty linemen to pancake the opposition. Make you happy Bus??

Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsJune Jones birthday is next week. He will turn 58. He has 4 more years under contract at SMU.
Like a lot of people around here, I think this will be his last coaching gig. Given his love of football and his undeniable success, to me, retiring at 61 is too early, especially since the quality of SMU football should increase appreciably in the next couple of years. Here’s hoping June Jones extends his stay at SMU for at least another 2 years, preferably 4. Retiring at 65 is understandable….61, not so much.
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsFor Jones' offense best WR's available and the best OL we can get. Defense, fast LB's that can hit, and DB's. Also, now we can start looking for the best athletes available.
Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsYes, we always need linemen. If we can get to the point that we are playing 10 o-line each game and 6 to 8 d-line each game - We can compete with anyone.
QB's are good if you are upgrading. We have some depth to fill specifically at ND, DB and receiver. ( yes to having a sticky handed 6'5" fast guy would be great.) At least we are not full of 5-7 quick guys. This team is so much better than the past 20 years. And, as JJ and staff keep upgrading - WOW. The last class makes me happy mostly because of the two NG recruits. Next year we need another HS and one JUCO just in case. And in closing, a NG should be at least 300 ![]() Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: 2012 Recruiting Needsbus you wont be happy until we have 10 ng's on scholarship

Re: 2012 Recruiting NeedsSince it seems that every other position has been covered I will add a punter & kicker.
