Arlington Oakridge receiver does his own recruiting

Becoming a blip on a college football program's radar has been a daunting task at times for Arlington Oakridge junior receiver Joshua Atkinson.
It's not that he lacks the ability or the numbers worthy of receiving attention. He has plenty of both. But sometimes a little more legwork is necessary to get noticed when you aren't playing at a Class 4A or 5A high school.
Atkinson has had to take it upon himself in many instances to get his name out via letters, sending tape or making calls to coaches
He has reason to believe he deserves a chance at the next level, given he caught 54 passes for 1,109 yards and 11 touchdowns in his junior season, numbers that put him near the top of each category in the area, regardless of classification. And he did so despite Oakridge's starting quarterback suffering a season-ending injury in the second game.
