We are receiving interest from 16 of those 75, including two of the six quarterbacks, two of the four running backs and three of the nine wide receivers.

Yes and we've offered 3 of them too- one is leaning to TCU, another has double digit offers and have narrowed them down to others schools. Might have a shot at Devante Harris

I would guess that Sam Rice, could be another son of former 80's SMU lineman Doug Rice.

This list is garbage because Jonathan Gray isn't on it. The DMN hides behind the excuse that it doesn't go into Parker County. You don't omit someone of this caliber because of a coverage philosophy. The DMN has covered Weatherford before.

This decision really makes them look stupid.

I don't think this is the DMN list, but rather the HSG list.

Aren't they one in the same? What's absurd about this is that the DMN/HSG -- a Metroplex media outlet -- puts together a ranking of the top (THE TOP) 75 players in the area but because of some moving target coverage philosophy it will not list a kid who plays about 45 miles away.

Are you kidding me?

If they're going to act under the guise of a web site, then it should be more universal to the coverage area. But yet the web site likely has to adhere to the newspaper.

Ridiculous.

If that was the case, why did the DMN even cover Aledo in the 4A state championship game last year? Because it was at Cowboys Stadium? Arlington is in their coverage area...whatever.

Gray is already listed as a 5-star recruit. He's going to be considered one of the top 10 recruits nationally. With health, he's going to be at the top of all of the Texas High School record books and blow Kenneth Hall away.

But sorry, there's just not enough papers sold in Parker County. Keep up the credibility, DMN. No wonder why I don't read this thing online anymore.

I think he should write a sternly worded Letter to the Editor and demand satisfaction

s/Earl in Aledo

It makes them look stupid, Stallion. And I know how much you value national, state and area lists.

while you're at it-write another letter to the FWST because they have a Tarrant County list as well that excludes Dallas kids

At least the FWST has been consistent with that policy for years. The DMN changes its mind every year.

is it possible the daily campus sports editor graduated and is now acting in that capacity for the DMN?
