From publicly available free data on Rivals.
Based on 193 recruits showing interest in SMU:
Texas - 63%
California - 16%
Oklahoma - 7%
Florida - 5%
Louisiana - 4%
Twelve other states - 7%
Again, this is not a reflection of offers. It's merely recruit interest in SMU.

what a dumb idea for analysis-I hope you didn't spend too much time determining that Texas kids would be more likely to have interest in attending SMU than those from other states

I provided information. Do with it what you wish.
I should not have to remind you of the rules of this board as very clearly laid out by PonyPride. Stop the insults immediately. Show respect to your fellow fans. Thank you.

more irrelevant information-less prospects showing interest in SMU than any former SWC school:
1. Texas A&M 249
2. Baylor 180
3. Texas Tech 178
4. TCU 177
5. Rice 154
6. Houston 144
7. Texas 128
8. SMU 118-sitting on 17 Offers to Texans-7 of which have already committed to other schools.

We have 193 prospects showing interest, 118 of whom happen by accident of birth or family relocation to be from Texas.
For comparison, University of Houston has 169 total prospects showing interest. 144 of those prospects happen by accident of birth or family relocation to be from Texas.
Rice has 184 total prospects showing interest, 154 of whom happen by accident of birth or family relocation to be from Texas.
Baylor has 205 total prospects showing interest, 180 of whom happen by accident of birth or family relocation to be from Texas.

But I just showed we are getting more interest from prospects than either Houston or Rice, our two current conference mates.

Here. Since you suddenly got silent, I'll answer for you in order to provide a model of civility.
Stallion wrote:You're right. Sorry about that. Rice and Houston do both have fewer recruits showing interest than we do. What I was trying to point out is that, of the former SWC teams, we have the fewest number of Texas recruits showing interest right now. I am concerned because you cannot in the long run ignore your home state if you hope for success.
That's an argument worth discussing. I think it has flaws. But it's an argument.
"You're stupid" is not an argument.
Glad to clear that up for you.

No I'll say it again-you're attempting to draw conclusion from worthless data. Interest might arise from letters in the mail and without any contact between recruit or coaching staff. Its completely worthless. You've only suceeded in wasting time

This ranks right up there with a school reporting that 350 prospects visited their camp. Comepletely worthless unless you know the quality of the player-3/4th of which probably aren't Division 1A players. You want me to do a search of the players in the Top 100 who have interest in SMU then you might learn something. You are treating this as if all players in the Rivals database are equal and assuming they are Division 1A prospects in the first place
