Word is SMU got a commitment Saturday from Frisco (Heritage) DL Elie Namushosi. Don't know much about him yet, other than the fact that he also plays quarterback and runs track.

all I found is that he was playing QB/DE last year at Frisco Heritage and ran above 16 seconds in the 110 Hurdles(not particularly great). Doesn't appear to be on Scout or Rivals unless I spelled it wrong.

Well, I'm happy for the young man. But I also am praying for him and the staff too. Because he's not in the database much less hold an offer, he's going to get absolutely BBQ'd by the critics because they will consider him a mystery guest and haven't known about him since at least this past January.

Hang in there, Elie. It's going to be a bumpy ride. You may want to call the kid from Round Rock to see how he's handling the early trashing from these snobs.

Apparently he is raw, but has a great frame (not sure yet how big) and is a terrific athlete. Not listed in either recruiting database. Hope to have more tomorrow.

His name is Eli Nabushosi, we had his brother at my place and just graduated a couple of days ago. Eli is a great kid (yes sir, no sir...a forgotten art) and is every bit of 6'6" but as already indicated very raw. I think last year was his first year at DE so much to learn. Played a large part at QB where he was dangerous in the triple option scheme Heritage ran last year. We could tackle him but he would fall forward for 4 yards. Can throw the ball a mile but QB is not what he is going to play in college. They have him playing all DE and TE now where he fits much better. His OC is a great guy and we've talked about getting him to play offensive tackle for them because that is a very good possibility for college. VERY long arms, tall frame, can add much more weight and move just fine so I could see this as an offer to a kid that is under the radar simply because he has played so little at a position that makes sense for him and because last year was the first year fielding a varsity team and they ending up 0-10. We have recruiters at our place that haven't even heard of the school yet so this could play somewhat of a role in that. This year will be different. OK State has been very high on him I hear from his coaches. Hope Eli has a great year except for when he plays Liberty week 5.

I was hoping for another Frisco NG.
We seem to have DE's stacked up and thin at NG. Just my opinion.

Don't forget Frazier... and didn't someone say this new commitment is being considered at both DE and OLB.
