Rivals Upgrading Star Rankings

looks like they are adding kids rated at least 5.6 and a 3 star. (lowest 3 star is 5.5). I notice Rice, Houston and TCU have some new 3 stars-Don't know if they are adding them all at one time or team by team. Some of our offers have been upgraded but none of our commitments yet

We just went from eight Rivals three stars showing interest to thirty six.

Kind of like me having an interest in Catherine Zeta Jones.

A better example, especially with the four star guys, is Catherine Zeta Jones having interest in you.

A student will report which schools he is interested in going to along with the level of interest (high, medium, low). True, it doesn't necessarily mean the school shares that interest. And the data can be old.

FWIW, we currently have 18 Rivals four stars and now an amazing 81 rivals three stars showing interest in us. (Though a few are currently committed elsewhere and will probably stick to that commitment).

what adjective would you use to describe the 89 3 star "interested" in UH and 138 "interested" in TCU. For those not interested in "horseshoes and handgrenades"(where coming close counts)-the present score is

TCU 4 Four Stars + 7 Three Stars
Houston 6 Three Stars
SMU 2 Three Stars

*evaluation of 3 stars is presently in progress and could change by the hour

Again, TCU is no longer our rival -- but as a BCS school and perenial top 10 team, they are now in a different stratosphere. Duh they outperform us.

Let's just look at Houston.

They have the six three star commits to our two right now. Yes, they're beating us there right now. Good point.

They have 89 three stars showing interest to our 81. Not a material difference, but ok they're winning.

Here's what you failed to mention: Houston has five Rivals four stars showing interest. We have eighteen.

So you put no stock in recruit interest, Nick?

Why put stock in interest when recruits have interest in literally a dozen schools?

7 of those 18 have committed elsewhere....so you can put a discount sticker on those....

Terrible way to look at it...taking that point of view is defeatist. I agree that it shouldn't surprise us that TCU has more interest and commitments from high-caliber recruits, but there's no reason that we shouldn't have a few expectations of our own.

It wasn't that long ago that TCU was getting beaten out in recruiting by Texas Tech and Baylor. Did they say "those schools are BCS and in a different stratosphere" and just accept it? No! They asked "why can't we turn the tables" and went out and did it.

I suppose what I am saying is that TCU is not something to be ignored...it is a benchmark that we should strive to reach as well. Now Stallion bragging about TCU 1.2902138209183 seconds does get a bit tiring, but in the end, they are still our rivals, they have opened a gap between them and us, and we should be trying to close that gap.

Since you dont like TCU comparisons lets go with a more academic school...

Vanderbilt has 104 looking...what are the odds they pull more than 1....

they have only gotten 1 in the past 5 years...

maybe their coaching staff can keep guy eligible...and by your data, they are out recruiting us by a huge margin...
