Re: F@#%@#%
.. it's just a part of being a SMU fan, you just roll with the punches. Sometimes they hit below the belt
Re: F@#%@#%In fairness, this situation is EXTREMELY different than the one we had last year. We deal with this and move on.
It sucks, but it's not SMU's fault.
Re: F@#%@#%not smu's fault at all but still one that is very very frustrating.
Re: F@#%@#%
it's not teaser info. i can't copy and paste information from rivals but why don't you go to rivals.com and read between the lines guy.
Re: F@#%@#%Jermaine Sams is qualified per the NCAA Clearinghouse.
He's been qualified for awhile, but he re-took the ACT in June and bettered his score by a point (19 to 20). He's waiting at home to get word from SMU's admissions committee.
Re: F@#%@#%I read your April 2011 report-two possibilities-the NCAA sometimes kicks those scores out-and they can do it quite arbitrarily based upon mathematical probabilities-or he had a poor last semester. A qualifying score might become a nonqualifying score if his core GPA dropped in the spring semester. Hope to see an update on Scout

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: F@#%@#%Hey my definition of teaser info is incomplete info. All of you rival subscribers can talk about on their boards until it is posted here so yes your post was teaser info may be to drive traffic at rivals site.
Re: F@#%@#%
And you have been an SMU fan for how long??????? You need to be an SMU fan for over 10 years to make that kinda statement ![]() ![]() ![]()
Re: F@#%@#%On a serious note, wish JJ was allowed to admit 2 players per year, regardless of admission standards (only criteria is that they are not thugs).
If they fail in the classroom, they will be kicked out of school anyways, if they succeed, more power to them. You could even add the incentive that if these 'special' players fail to get degrees, you limit your HCs ability to admit these special players going forward.
Re: F@#%@#%Having taught college classes, I might add some thoughts here. You don't want to admit anyone who has insufficient academic skills (whether its their fault or not) because ultimately they will adversely affect APR, not stay eligible due to lack of academic progress, or worse flunk or drop out. I'm all for admitting borderline kids who have a chance to succeed, but not ones that are really doomed to fail. That's not fair to them, to the program, or to the University.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: F@#%@#%Unless they can speed rush.
Re: F@#%@#%
Taking in quotes and info from here, Rivals and Scout, are we looking at a sliding scale situation you are always referencing? In this case it sounded like either GPA or ACT could be a qualifying number on their own, but put together they were not sufficient (sliding scale), which is why he retook the test, presumably improved his score, and is now awaiting clearance? #NewLobCity
