Of course we'd like to have ALL of the top players in the area. And in the state. And in the nation. But given that some of them will make mistakes and go elsewhere, here's who I'd most like to see suit up in red & blue next fall.

Quinland Germany - Hamp will need to be replaced one of these days as a receiving TE

David Overstreet - can't teach 4.39

Akin Akinniy - fast for a LB, and reports are he'll keep growing. Besides, those are some legit schools recruiting him -- they must know something.

Corey Ford - DE's are a priority this year, and he looks like a stud.

Kelvin Cox - 6 feet tall and runs a 4.4?

Jonathan Cruz - replaces Sterling Harris as the guy who should be first off the bus. Speaking of which, BUS must love this guy. What a beast.

Ricky Lay - should have a strong QB in every class. This kid qualifies

Chase Carter - again, we need defensive linemen

Andre Morgan - like Cox, size/speed combo makes him appealing

Kendrick Dozier - very athletic QB (I've seen him play). If he can't play QB, we can find a place on the field for him, and he's another local kid we need to keep home.

6-7, 350? In high school? Get him on the Hilltop, and teach him to play if you have to. Maybe he can become what Luter didn't.

On that list, our priorities should be Corey Ford, David Overstreet, Andre Morgan and Kendrick Dozier. Those, and of course keeping Gilmore and Billups in the fold.

Good luck, coaches!

Of these players, Quinlan Germany, Corey Ford Kelvin Cox, Jon Cruz, Kris Price, Andre Morgan, Nate Draughon and Brent Karrington all went to one or more camps at SMU. Those camps are paying off for the coaches, who were able to get a first-hand look at these kids and show them that gorgeous stadium and campus.

Great work so far, coaches. Keep it up!
