Anyone know who we might have been entertaining this weekend and whether or not they took in the game?

I had hoped for a better crowd and a more favorable result at Moody, but I'm also hoping to hear Bennett & staff have some leads on DL replacements for the two we lost this week.

The recruits went to the game, but because of a long dinner at Papadeaux's, they didn't get there until about 10 minutes to go till the half. Then they left with about a minute to go to see their highlight films on Ford Stadium's Jumbotron

I don't know all the kids' names, but I know Martin Guidry, Brent Kerrington, and Jamie Harper were there.

Coach Bennett and his staff put on a great weekend. I was just in awe in what's available to these student athletes at SMU.

Donnie met Ashton Nixon and ShanD. Coach Edmundson introduced Ashton as a quarterback for what it's worth. (referring to the post that A.N. was moved to receiver).

Jim Copeland addressed the recruits and parents Saturday after lunch. Suffice it to say that he and the entire football staff are committed to winning the WAC as early as the up-coming season.

thanks for the info PPP, you have been very informative. Good to know the admin is changing its attitude and you and your son are happy to be a part of this program.

PPP- that is all you are going to tell us?. We finally have an insider and you won't give us any information. How about some insider info such as:

1. Number of recruits this week end.
2. positions
3. names and HS's
4. Who was interested and who was not?
5. Who were the coaches really pressing?

Who's Jamie Parker?

Sorry, that is Jamie Harper. He is a speedster from Atlanta, TX. Great family. Currently committed to TCU, but was heavily recruited by the staff and coach Bennett.

There were 7 recruits - Donnie Gilray-QB, Jamie Harper-DB, Martin Guidry-OL, Brent Kerrington-DE.

Donnie had three hosts. Chris MacMurtray,
Derek Swofford, and ShanDerrick Charles. We also met Don Ieremia-Stansbury and Ashton Nixon.

I will have to get back to you with the other recruits. (Donnie knows their names better than me).
QB position is wide open. Donnie will do his best to earn the starter, even as a true freshman.

We also met Cara Edmundson. She is Coach Edmundson's wife. Wonderful person. Teaches 2nd grade. Makes Chocolate Chip cookies for the QB's each week before the game. Also a great source of info on cajun cooking.

Jamie Harper would be a great pickup. My nephew played against Atlanta this year, and I asked - he said Harper might be the fastest player he's ever seen. (Remember, this isn't 5A football, but still, fast is fast.)

Would be great to steal a commitment from the little froggies.
