Recruiting season is over? Not so fast my friends!

Any word on juniors who we should start looking at for next year's class?

FOX 7 lists a bunch of Austin-area juniors to keep an eye on for next year. There are a few who at least on paper look sensational:

Defensive end Carl White
Gonzales HS
6'5" 270 lbs
That kind of size coming off the edge would be sensational. Imagine how much room to move Melvin Williams might have if this kid showed up to occupy multiple blockers on the opposite end.

Tight end Joey Thomas
Westlake HS
6'5" 220 lbs. 4.7 in 40
Good size for a HS tight end, and above-average speed for a player of his size. He's a frequent target in Westlake's pass-happy offense.

OL/DL Matt Owens
Lockhart HS
6'5" 275 lbs.
Versatile player who plays on both sides of the ball at the same HS that gave us Trey Griffin. FOX 7 reports he's a lock to qualify, being a strong student.

Cornerback Stephen McCoy
Harker Heights
5'11" 170 lbs. 4.4 in 40
Good size and excellent speed. Might be a hard sell, since his brother plays for Kansas.

OL Devorias Jackson
Harker Heights HS
6'4" 330 lbs. 5.3 in 40
They list another OL, LBJ's Lucius Alexander, but Alexander only chugged out a 6.0 in the 40. This kid has much better quickness and footwork. At that size, though, I'll take both.

Can you imagine Carl White and Darring Johnson lined up at opposite defensive end spots? There would be quarterbacks who might quit or fake an injury just to avoid seeing that pair coming. Either one of them might swallow a QB whole.

I'd like to see Jackson and Alexander on the offensive line. You can never have too many huge bodies.
