I sure hope we offer this kid a scollie. I buddy of mine is one of his coaches and he has nothing but great things to say about him. At 6'4 he is big and strong. He also has great hands. I saw him make some great catches in the Tom Landry classic. The Scots also have a RB named Preston Miller that is fun to watch. I think he is just a junior but he has wheels.

Just tore his ACL right? Only had offers from Columbia and Buzzard High before that, going to have to walk on if he really wants to come here.

I would still take him even with a tore ACL. I know this breaks our rule about having receivers taller than 5'6 Jesuit also has a stud receiver Jake Oliver-just a junior but a great prospect.

Preston miller is a senior - very fast but probably not big enough (5-8) for us to take a chance. Supposedly looking at Rice.
Stogner is not the typical HP receiver - he is a real D-1 prospect. Was getting lots of looks and dialog from Big 12 schools before the injury - and also from pass heavy schools - including SMU. Someone will give him a scholarship shot and i would not be surprised if it was SMU.

Can we PLEASE save a schollie for this kid? I saw him play a few times and he reminded me of Mitchell Glieber. He catches everything that comes his way. He also won't be a grade casualty ever. Come on Coach-Let get this Scotty on the team!

There is a variation of this thread every year-you guys ought to team up and fund the annual Highland Park Bubble Scholarship

I would also be inclined to roll the dice on Stogner. I like his work ethic and size.

The top 2 receivers in the Metroplex before the season were Stogner and Jake Oliver from Jesuit. Stogner hurt his knee and now he forget how to catch a football?! Lets keep recruiting more 5'7 smurfs-thats the ticket.

do you watch much SMU Football?
Sanders 5-11
Robinson 5-10.5
Johnson 5-10
Beasley 5-9
I wish we could get some taller guys with the quickness these guys have but they are extremely rare-I mean a few handfuls nationally. Their numbers speak for themselves on what works in this offense.
