Dallas Jesuit RB John Wall (5-10.5, 190) -- who is being recruited by SMU, among others -- has burst out of the gate this year. In Jesuit's first two games, he's run 40 times for 537 yards and five touchdowns (of 75, 56 and 35 in the Rangers' opener against Mesquite Horn, and 66 and 34 yards Friday against Coppell.
He has been offered a scholarship by Purdue, and will take an official visit to the West Lafayette, Ind., campus Sept. 27.
Wall has a 2.95 GPA here and he scored a 1030 on his SAT, but plans to take the test again.

SMU should be one of the schools to which John takes an official visit, even though he lives in town. He could take his visits to five other schools, and the make an unofficial visit to SMU, but has said SMU is in his top 5.

He's missed the last two games with a bad ankle. He's supposedly going to try to play tonight, but with the unsure footing brought about by the rainy weather, it wouldn't be surprising if the Jesuit coaching staff held him out another week.
