"This weeks DMN Offensive Player of the Week is a guy SMU reportedly has a shot at. Adrian Turner 5-10, 180 RB/DB from Terrell who reportedly runs a 4.4. Most schools are recruiting him as a DB but I believe he ran for 160 yards and a long kick return in the final minutes to win Terrell's game this weekend. Heartland Recruiting-the Big 12 Insiders recruiting site also put him at the Top of his Honor Roll for this weeks performance. Apparently no offers yet but he is interested in Ark, OU, Kansas, SMU and TCU. Of course, Terrell is the home of Sterling Harris and his brother D.D. Johnson so hopefully he will give us a shot."

Adrian Turner is considered a mid-level prospect. He could be a special teams contributor at SMU and work his way into the defensive backfield rotation with the Mustangs after a year or two. But remember, the Mustangs have several young DBs already in place who can play: Rolando Humphrey, Jamey Harper, Johnny Fitzgerald and (perhaps the most talented of all of them) Robert Gilmore. If Gilmore's knee is completely healed and he can return to his pre-injury form, he's an absolute steal.
