24/7 Sports just released their class of 2013 recruit rankings and have Eddie Printz with a score of 92 which earns him 4 stars. "Eddie Printz is a 6-4, 200-pound Pro-Style Quarterback from Marietta, GA. He is ranked No. 90 in the country by 247Sports. Printz is the No. 3 recruit in Georgia (GA) and is the No. 7 Pro-Style Quarterback in the nation. Printz has a 247Sports rating of 92, making him a 4-star prospect. He has committed to Southern Methodist (Dallas, Texas (TX))." http://247sports.com/Player/Eddie-Printz-839 I sure hope we can hang on to this guy. Looks like he will be legit. BE invite surely couldn't have hurt.

You aren't impressed by #7 QB and #90 in the nation?

Is there a way to be disappointed with picking this guy up? I, for one, am psyched we got this guy. How often do we land the number 7 QB in the nation?

My point is that some were saying he was a 5* recruit. So if a rating comes out that he is a 4* that might be disappointing. I am thrilled either way. Just gauging this story vs. expectations.

Typically there are only around 25 5* players in a given year. That would be a real pull if we landed one. (I know Gilbert was a 5*, but I don't consider landing him since he went to UT out of HS)

that original 5 star rating was bogus because they listed something like 13 or was it 18 QBs-as mentioned above there usually are no more than 30-35 5 Star players on Rivals at ALL POSITIONS

Gilbert was still the #2 ranked QB 18 overall how does that make him a bogus 5 star?

He is talking about all of the people here that were referring to Printz as a 5 star because he was listed as one of the top QBs in his class. Nothing to do with Gilbert.

Be it 4 or 5 stars, one is just about as good of a rating as the other. Either usually means high quality. The most important thing about the 4 or 5 star rating is that other highly rated recruits will see that we have a highly rated player and will look more at SMU. Remember in general, highly rated players like to go where other highly rated players go. Good he is at 4 stars.

Great to go from hoping our recruits are a 2* to debating about the merits of being a 5* vs 4*. Hoping printz hype + entering the BE will help us push for a top 30 recruiting class next year

Case in point the 4* ND decommit that tweeted about SMU getting their QB and going to the BCS. He was commenting on Gilbert coming to SMU.

Still room in the class to add few more. Hope the momentum gets players off the fence and over to SMU.
