Positions that SMU will be BCS ready come 2013 for the BE

I think as Stallion said LB (if we get all of them in) as well as QB (CP, Burcham, and Printz are very good BCS prospects IMO). Marks helps the receiving group but we need more to be BCS ready. Everywhere else might be questionable IMO. Interested to read what everyone else's thoughts are.

There are degrees of BCS (AQ) preparedness. I think we're close to being BE AQ ready, but we have a ways to go to be Big12 ready.

What positions do you think we need to upgrade? Again I am not talking about the team as a whole but each position like RB, OL, DL etc.

I agree on the secondary, although I think we have some pretty talented safeties. Some big fellas on the D line will be crucial. We will not survive with 260lb DT's. Hopefully O'Guin will be ready by then

Defense for depth, long snapper, and two big backs to make our running attack more dimensional.

By my count, SMU has 7 Big East level athletes in hoops..Smith/Cunningham/Jones/Manuel/Blaise/Williams/Vilde

I'm not sure SMU's secondary is Sunbelt ready. For those UNT guys that get lost and come over here, that's not a good comment.

Uh OK. I was agreeing that we need to upgrade our secondary. I'm not saying our safeties are Big East quality, but we have a lot of guys at the position

Wide Receiver...Marks, Lewis, Mickens, Holleman. I know Mickens hasn't committed but I'm hearing rumors out of California that he's favoring SMU. If you were to dream up a group of receivers to be in this offense, this would be it.

This would be one of the top receiving corps in the nation in 2-3 years.

If we get them into school I'd agree but since every one of them is still looking around at multiple options then its not time to make that claim yet

I think that going to an AQ conference and getting to another bowl may help solidify some of our commitments.

GO PONIES!!!

I remember June's recruiting style as being characterized as recruit for positions such as WR and DE and then turn them into LB, DT, and DB. I also noticed we no longer have to hope our new lineman are able to gain 40-60lbs and be ready in two years. If anything some are having to be slimmed down.

Are we already reaching a point beyond what June was able to do recruiting wise in Hawaii? How do our recent recruiting classes compare to what June was able to do in Hawaii?

In order to be competitive in the BE June has to do much better in recruiting than he has at Hawaii or SMU.
