Cedric Cofer

Also in today's DMN, it says Cofer (the 6-4, 295-pound DeSoto OL/DT prospect who's #39 on their area top 100 list) will miss the remainder of the season after re-injuring his fractured right leg while running.

Last year, other schools backed off from Robert Gilmore because of his knee injury (although his injury was considerably more severe) and Gilmore ended up signing with SMU. Reports now suggest that he was a steal, that he's doing exceptionally well in practice and will work his way into the secondary rotation next year.

Maybe Cofer's leg injury will allow him to fall in our laps, too?

That would be quite a steal if his injury lands Cofer on the Hilltop. I've seen him play, and he absolutely dominates games. He's incredibly quick for a big guy, and he has strength and power that high school guys just can't handle. If he were to commit to SMU as an offensive lineman, he'd be the most highly-rated of our OL recruits so far.

What other schools is Cofer considering?

Rivals says Colorado, Iowa, Texas A&M, and TCU. It lists him as a 2 star prospect, 6'4" 300lbs, runs the 40 in 5 secs. Not always the most accurate info. Anyone else have anything?
