Tulsa (Union HS) Okla., defensive end Blake Smith (6-4, 240, 4.6) is expected to visit SMU either this weekend or the weekend of the game against Tulsa. Smith recorded 86 tackles and 11 quarterback sacks as a junior. Rivals.com ranks him as the #40 defensive end in the nation.

In addition to SMU, he's also considering Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Tulsa

Blake reminds me a little of Grant Wistrom of the Rams. He's not physically overwhelming, but he's extremely strong and goes 100 miles an hour from kickoff until the final whistle. He's as relentless a player as I've seen this year, against the pass and against the run.

He does have friends at OU, and I believe he's grown up a Sooners fan, so if they offer, he'll be hard to get. But he's well worth the effort it would take to sign him.
