Fred Turner

Postby LA_Mustang » Sun Nov 24, 2002 12:39 pm

Stallion has raved about this guy on the other board for the past few weeks. I had a chance to listen to the Arlington Lamar/Coppell game on the Ticket last night and saw highlights on Ch. 8 this morning. This kid appears to be a super athlete. He was running all over the field with a couple of 40+ TD runs. As the sports guy on Ch 8 said, “Coppell simply could not stop Fred Turner.” My fear is that the longer Lamar stays in the playoffs, the more attention he will get from the big boys. And we all know a commitment can change as quick as the weather.
Now let’s kick some Frog [deleted] tonight!!

Right on. Like I've said before, I've seen Fred play many times, and all I can say is "wow". He's an absolute flyer, and he has unreal moves. He can stop and start in a heartbeat, and can squirm out of a pile of players like nobody I've ever seen. He kinda looks like Warrick Dunn (good hands, too, like Dunn).

Hey, you've got to like the stable of "speed" guys Bennett can call on next year. Turner will compliment Comet's return along with ShanDerrick, Griffin and Anthony Barnett next year to give us a lot of "little guys" with big play potential.

Cavan came in here and got us all excited in his 1st year and then the team went steadily downhill. Well, we bottomed out this year and I've got to believe Bennett and this staff and our returning players will get this program moving the other direction. Steady improvement; year after year until we return to post season play.

Now...if we could just figure out a way to get our fans to finish the season along with the team? I think I read that we have TCU scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving next year. I sure wish we could arrange the schedule to play them during rivalry week every year.

When/where do we play Baylor High next year?

Anyone know if any of their commitments are wavering?
