Does anyone realize he's the #17 Dual Threat QB in the nation? He's also #68 on the Rivals Texas Top 100. That would make him our highest rated recruit! Has anyone seen him play? The kid has apparently been climbing the charts fast, yet has only been offered by La Tech, TCU, Rice, and SMU so far. Interest has dropped off even from SMU and Joel has been very surprised. TCU and Air Force have been recruiting him the hardest. I think he deserves more attention than he's been getting from us...I don't want to lose another recruit to TCU. Thoughts?

A little more info from the premium side of rivals. This is regarding the new Texas 100 List:

"There were a few newcomers to the list but the most notable addition was Longview, Texas, quarterback Joel Armstrong, who moved into the No. 68 spot.

If Hodge is the hottest target in the state, then Armstrong isn’t too far behind. He has helped Longview to an 8-3 record with his ability to ramble, scramble and fire the ball to open receivers.

He was also huge last Friday night in helping Longview beat Garland, the state’s No. 1 team, in the first round in the state playoffs. Oh yeah, he only had 170 yards passing in the first half."
