Didn't Phillips have 5 TDs in that game, and 9 in the last 2 games? Can't wait to see him in Mustang colors!

"06" The real story is not the final score but the way Chris and his team mates manufactured a Championship wining season, ending with a state title.
Yes Chris had 9 TD over the last two games, again stats do not tell you what a leader Chris is and maybe for the Mustangs.
"COPPERAS COVE – Chris Phillips made certain his last game at Bishop Lynch produced the first state title for his coach, Gary Oliver"
"For me to be the quarterback and be able to say I was part of the leadership of this group, and going out my senior year with a state championship, it doesn't get any better than this," said Phillips"

Rushing - Bishop Lynch, Chris Phillips 19-124-5(TD)
Passing - Bishop Lynch, Chris Phillips 5-11-1-72-0(TD)

I'm excited to see if Phillips is the caliber of player that we can design an offense around in the coming years. With the depth at the RB spot and a very talented running QB, we might be surprised. Also, has anyone given thought to the lack of depth at the QB position. It might not be a good idea to redshirt both Phillips and Meeks (?)

ANOTHER great move by Coach Bennett. He has made more public appearances and shaken more hands in a year at SMU than Cavan, Rossley and Gregg did in their entire coaching tenures on the Hilltop. That's not to sit here and take shots at the other coaches, but Coach Bennett has gone to great lengths to increase our program's visibility in the community. I won't be able to make it up there for that provate school game, but whoever goes, give Coach Bennett a big cheer for me.

EVERYTHING about this class is exciting.
We have serious speed in guys like Chris Phillips, Ervin McGee, Blake Warren, etc.
We have some monsters for the front line in Justin Boren, Bryan Turner, Kenard Burley, etc.
We have some smart, strong-armed QBs (who also can run) in Phillips and Ricky Joe Meeks.
We have the next Chris Bordano in Zach Hall.
We have a strong, relentless DE in Desmond Jones.
Maybe the next version of the Pony Express with Richuel Massey and Fred Turner?
And there's more on the way - a LOT more. Damn it's exciting to be an SMU fan right now.

HorsePower, you forgot that you also have Johnny Rock cheering in the stands. After all, I am a top 100 SMU fan; that in it self is something to really get excited about.
