Lot of talk about Gatewood coming to the Stangs.. some boards list his interest.. others do not. He is interested in SMU and more importantly, good friends with Bryan Turner and Meeks.. who will both be at SMU the weekend of his visit. Most importantly, the information of his interest has been verified by coaches and parents at his HS that I've personally spoken to. So.. we are not such the longshot that people think. Even the Texas Longhorn board <A HREF="http://www.hornfans.com" TARGET=_blank>www.hornfans.com</A> have been chatting up Gatewood's interest in SMU.. they'd rather see that than him go to ATM.

Good luck to the coaches the rest of the way.. and cheers to the oral committs like Meeks and Turner if they reel in this kid.

Sounds like UT and A$M both want him pretty badly. Would be a major coup if SMU pulls it off.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes for Gatewood to abandon his A&M commitment and sign with SMU. With Coach Fran taking over in College Station, the aggies will go back to running the ball 90% of the time, and a marquee receiver like Gatewood choosing A&M makes would be as weird as seeing SMU President Turner with a nosering. It just doesn't make any sense.

Here's hoping Ricky Joe Meeks and Bryan Turner can get their friend to join them on the Hilltop!

rivals has him as a 4 star recruit and the 16th best WR in the country. I hope Bennett can pull this off.

Gatewood is going to the UT banquet this weekend. They typically get a lot of players after that little to-do. I look for him to change his commitment to UT next week. A$M appears to be out of the picture since they are going to the option attack under Travelin' Fran. Will be a longshot for SMU if he visits in January.

I don't know, I have great faith in Ricky Joe Meeks and Bryan Turner.
Bring him in the Mustangs' stable, fellas!
