Sturdivant's team ahead 6 - 0 at the half in the Georgia 5A Championship game.
I can't recall his father. When was he at SMU? What position?

Sturdivant is visiting that 2nd weekend in January. Looks like we will have a lot of guys there that weekend who could make this recruiting class special. Hope Sturdivant wants to be part of the class that is looking more and more like it will be the group that finally helps turn this program around.

Sturdivant's Parkview won 28 - 8 and on offense Joey caught four passes for 65 yards including a 40 yard TD play on a screen. The AJC did not give defensive stats in the main article.
Parkview has won 45 games in a row, the current Georgia record, and three state championships in a row, with Sturdivant's class playing a big roll.
If Sturdivant enters SMU I suppose he will rank well up on the list of well liked recruits since the start of Football II.
Its been intersting this year, following HS football mostly on the internet. New state consectutive wins records and most wins by a coach records were set in Texas and Georgia and most wins in Oklahoma also. Most surprising perhaps, there is a new national schoolboy passing record in Ohio.

Sturdivant has been named an onorable Mention All State DB by the AJC. The Atlanta papers are currently stingy with HS All Star coverage: One team named on offense and defense and then the honorable mentions. Any where else he would have been 2nd team all state.
