Jones Debacle actually good for recruiting

I know many of you will not understand how this can be - but think through this a bit. Every rising program in the country has a coach that is potentially sought after, and will likely bolt when given better opening (see Fedora and Sumlin for very recent examples).
June seems to be somewhat humbled by his turn of events, and is seeing all of this as a sign he should be here and finish the job. Whether that is sincere or not doesnt matter - he is more likely to stay at SMU for the next few years if he stays successful due to all of this mess then a coach at an alternative school that will 100% bolt when given the chance. Recruits should have this pointed out to them.
We are actually more stable now then we were before - we just know more.

We just might be more stable-maybe not right now-but Jones put his resume out there and he ain't getting a great response from the type of BCS programs that are likely to match our deal. What West Coast program-which is where he wants to be- is out there left
USC never
UCLA-no interview
Stanford-not in a Million years because of his APR record
ASU-uniting force of 97% opposition to June Jones
Arizona-didn't get a mention
WSU-taken-name never came up
Washington-not likely
Cal-taken
Oregon-Never
Colorado & Utah-no wooly socks
Oregon St-hmm that job may open up in future-probably his best shot
He may just realize that this is likely going to be his last job and he better hold onto to the fantastic deal he has

I like the list. Guess we have to get used to including SDSU in the list of west coast BCS schools.

yeah I could see that-especially in a coaching search year like this-but that job was just filled last year and they going to a bowl after finishing 8-4. So that would likely be down the road

I don't know or not but it would seem that you could at least work in something keeping a Head coach from leaving for a job in the same conf.
Just can't think of when it has happened. Only recent memory of any in conf move as HC to HC is Nutt. But he was fired at ark.

This Jones debacle is actually so good for recruiting that our 2013 high caliber QB has just opened up his commitment.

Being from Oregon myself, THAT would never happen..Corvallis is a dreary one stop town and JJ has seen the sun light ( Hawaii) and it ain't in Oregon.
