I'm very excited for us to have Christian regardless of how his path lead him to SMU. We might see a similar story play out a couple of times in the near future, but as long as we are in the hunt for good talent I am pleased. I think Christian will find that in the long run, that "error" will be one of the best things that ever happens to him as he is about to attend one of the greatest colleges in the country. I know how much we all love SMU, even if there are complaints at times, and he is about to find out why it is so amazing. Welcome to SMU Christian and good luck with your future. You are going to love it here!

Thx, 86. Does anyone know if this means he will enroll next week or in the summer?

Also, my gut on Moreland says he will never see a D1 campus. Hope I'm off base and he will take advantage of an opportunity.

He has no other choice at this point. We could get all the DII level talent you want that really want to come to SMU at this point in the recruiting year but not many of Holloway's ability. Glad to have him. You might see a few more like this over the years where SMU was not their first choice.

Wow! That is a very glass is half empty approach to things. I'm not sure how successful one can be in life, let alone Division I NCAA football with that attitude. I can think of a couple of players that very much wanted to be a part of The Hilltop, and I would very much like to be a part of our legacy, but due to a various reasons will now be spending their college careers at a certain neighboring school to the west.

These things happen and I am finally happy to see it have a positive result for SMU. I have always thought of SMU as a very welcoming community and look forward to seeing what Christian will do here.

The last thing SMU needs is bad football players and coaches, we're always going to have to fight to get/keep the good ones.

Maybe his desire to be at SMU is inferred but not explicit.

It has nothing to do with SMU not being his 1st choice. It has to due with a player not having his heart in it because he had no other choice. In those situations, some times players find motivaton, other times apathy. I'm just hoping it's the former.

Besides, SMU is WELL beyond the point where they could fill the roster with excited DI kids. They may not all be 3-star players, but they would play with heart and purpose.

You can fill our roster full of marginal DI recruits and get our backsides handed to us in the Big East but we would have players with heart. Heck,we have a DB we will be getting this weekend that has no other choice but SMU. Relax dude it happens all the time at non BCS schools and lower tier BCS schools where talented player can't get their first choice falls back on them. I know we have egos at SMU but we have to take a reality check on where we are in recruiting and where we are headed to in the future. He never said that he did not like SMU. Glad to have him.

well, if he was trying to enroll at UCLA, that makes me think he's trying to get started now.
