quite frankly I'm not sure if Rivals is completely up to date on commitments to WAC schools, but as of Monday SMU has commitments from 10 3 star recruits while the rest of the WAC has only 6 3+ star recruits combined. The Team Rankings were just updated and SMU presently sits 27th in total points and 72nd in average points per player. However, the average points per player is significantly skewed at this point. Example, Nevada presently sits at No. 1 in the nation in average points but only because it has a commitment from only one player who happens to be a 4 star JUCO. Gives them a 4.0 rating. At least 10-12 have such insignificant numbers that they should also be discounted completely in relation to SMU. There's another 20 or so teams we'll just have to see if they can maintain their average as they complete their class.

We're sitting quite well. As long as we have a better class than TCU

A positive Stallion is a scary thing.

Stallion, assuming we receive 24 commitments, 12 being 3-star recruits and 12 being 2-star recruits, where would be have ranked nationally on average points per player per LAST years’ recruiting class.

I tossed all my '02 recruiting info, but for comparrison, last year we only signed 1 3-star recruit (Anthony Barnett). So I don't think we were anywhere on the radar screen last year as far as a nationally regarded recruiting class.

We had only 1 3-star recruit last year, and now we're talking about landing 12 or more?
Anyone want to tell us again how Bennett's not a great recruiter? Ha! This staff is doing an unbelievable job!

Questions for Stallion or Recruiting Guru, etc.
What is the star count as of Wednesday morning, 15 January 2003?
How do the Rivals Star ratings compare with the numerical ratings found in Texas Football several years ago?
