Has it come down to this? TCU just won a battle with Stanford for a wide receiver that had offers from 8 BCS schools and we are fight UNT and UTSA for players. This is just ridiculous IMO.

This kid dropped a school with world-class academics for Froggie High? LOL that'll come back to bite him in the [deleted] in a big way down the road. But yeah, June clearly thinks 2 weeks of half-assed recruiting a year is all he needs to do, can't wait til we're rid of him.

As for your pledge, I have accepted it and I am meeting or exceeding all three goals for 2012.

I am sure you weren't saying that when Turner Gill was getting his but kicked in football nor would you say that if Self had KU playing mediocre basketball and going after mid level players. Split milk is past tense. We are talking about out current players we are going after in case you can't see that.

If we continue battling teams like UNT, UTSA, FAU, Eastern Washington, New Mexico, Ball State, and Middle Tennessee State for recruits as well as offering high school JV players then in about 2 or 3 years we'll be crying over more than just spilled milk.

If a kid made that decision, I don't think he would have made it at Stanford. Talk about a decision that will impact you for the long run. Stanford diploma or Froggie High? I don't know what they put in that purple kool-aid that they gave him to drink or if he just doesn't have that many marbles to begin with.

I don't know what they put in that purple kool-aid...

Apparently they need to add more to it, as they've lost two of their best recruits over the past week or so. Pope to A&M stung...

I don't blame a kid for going to A&M over froggie high, but I can see some extenuating circumstances to where it may go the other way around (ie, playing time), but to lose a recruit to Stanford? A great football program and a world-class education. That is just one I will never understand unless he was told he wouldn't get into Stanford.

Oh the burden of being an SMU fan...you are solely to blame for the loses, aren't deserving of the successes, you are the schools only marketing department, in charge of raising funds, financing commercials and billboards while providing amateur scouting/tips.

It is no doubt sad that we are battling schools who either shouldnt be or are not in the FBS school groupings. Either way like CMF said, there is no use in complaining over message boards. However at least when it comes to perception from tv, we looked like a great traveling school. I realize we didnt fill the entire half of the stadium, but the fact we had so many people is a testimony to the turnaround at SMU in 3 years. I just hate to see a stunt in growth (recruiting class), but every school can have its bad years. This was yet another unfortunate time where all the schools played coaches musical chairs. Ours tried to leave for ASU and got us screwed, and other better name coaches like Leach picked off our best recruits, it happens and surely next year we will be more prepared.

The point is that we are in a recruiting battle with freaking UTSA for a recruit regardless of whether he comes here or not. You would think we would be shooting higher.
