Would be so much better. We would be welcoming all these kids to SMU and not getting caught up in all this nonsense. Kids are teachable. We'll be fine. I haven't broken a sweat during this whole thing, and I certainly don't expect to now.

Bring on Baylor.

we should create a "diamond in the rough" award

I guess Zach Line would have won that one, too. Nobody thought much of him coming out of H.S. as I recall.

The reality is that 4 and 5 star kids aren't lining up to come see what SMU has to offer. We have to find a higher percentage of coachable kids with a lot of heart and will still have to get over the ASU debacle. There are some who will never let go of that no matter what happens. Makes it easy to negatively recruit against SMU

We need to clear out the Deadwood on the Coaching Staff and find some Coaches that can get the Job done.

It is a stellar class that will win the BE and go BCS bowls starting in 2013. We don't need ot step up recruiting, we don't need to focus more on Texas. Just keep status quo and battle UNT for recruits each year. As well as offering JV players.

That's the spirit, Rebel10: I'd like to welcome all of our new players and tell them how much I'm looking forward to watching them compete for SMU, too.

I don't know where fans got this sense of entitlement that the coaches need to tell everyone how much of what they do each day. Some recruit, some do game planning, some work with counselors to oversee academic progress, etc. The difference is that those others aren't feeding information to some pay site reporter to pat themselves on the back.

It looks like we got some very good players in this class, although how many are how good won't be known for a few years. Thanks, coaches.

The recruits talk to the pay sites and they tell you what the coaches are doing. We don't have to have the coaches tell us what they are doing the kids say enough. When they say things like so and so thought he offered me two months ago but he never did, you know things are messed up. There are countless other examples of problems with our recruiting that the recruits say. Since they are the ones the coaches are recruiting I think they can accurately identify our problems.

If we didn't have recruiting services no one would know who we are especially if they are out of state.
