If I remember right

Last year we got a Marcus ?? from Louisiana and he was red shirted. If I remember he was a big 280 plus DT and now I see a 300 plus DT we just received a verbal from, DMN post. Given that they both are quick - All is good.

I like the way things are shaping up. I would like to see the transfer DT sign here too.

Go Mustangs!!

The transfer DT (Thomas Derricks) would be a coup - just your kind of guy, BUS (big, quick and strong as an ox.)

Marcus Walker just finished his second season - he redshirted 2001 and was a redshirt freshman in 2002. He needs to produce in practice and earn some playing time. (He's 6-3, 280 or so).

Now because he was accepted by Northwesrern does that mean he can qualify to get into SMU. Like our last transfer Page?

Come on Coach Bennett!

Derricks went to Jesuit, qualified for Northwestern, and I hear (second hand) that he has a 3.6 GPA to date.

I think he'll do just fine on the Hilltop.

Maybe I missed this but is Thomas Derricks interested in possibly transferring to SMU? or is this just speculation and wishful thinking? thanks for any insight...

Hell, even if he had to sit out a year maybe he could whip Sterling Harris into shape. That in itself would warrant a scholarship.

No, he's really thinking about it. Bennett & Co. have been talking to him for several weeks now.

Derricks is extremely smart. If he ends up at SMU, he'll do extremely well.
