EJ just tweeted that we picked up a commit from a 6-1 CB from Gilmer, Trey Washington.

referenced by Smoaky.com in a list of Top East/Central Texas recruits-David Smoak does a good job covering that area

made the initial Lone Star Recruiting (LSR-Texas Rivals) 2013 Texas Top 100 at No. 79 -that list came out 10 months ago (pre-Junior Year) and has since been updated. Checking to see if he is still on it. Nope no longer on it.

last year killed me on the early commits...I will no longer believe that anyone is solid until they make their mark on signing day. Robert Lewis ruined it for me.
That said, a 6'1" DB with speed is always a good start.

Of course this is still early, but it is always nice to see SMU recruiting Texas. Will be interesting to see how this recruiting season turns out post Klemm, Reinebold, and the ASU mess. Obviously wins always help.

Gilmer is a solid program year in and year out-they turn out good prospects every year.

Hey, give me a 6'1 DB with speed over a 5'6 135 lb. RB any day -- even if they were going to move the guy to slot, one direct hit and that guy would have been toast.

How do we know he has speed? Did he run track or do we have any times?

With all the negative pub TCU is getting I would be surprised if it is not a long time before they get another commitment.

Their problem is not the negative publicity; rather, Patterson's drug testing policies.
