Would TD be able to play this coming year or would he have to sit out another year? Anyone know for sure?

He'd have to sit for a year.

However, IMHO, TD would stil have immediate impact. Remember, he's a bright guy who's been coaching at Jesuit for the last year.

My point is... imagine a guy of his talent, being something of a plyer/coach. Think how our offensive line would have to grow working out against a guy like that. Everyday learning from and competing against one of the elite DLs in the WAC (assuming he comes to the WAC).

I couldn't imagine anything that would help better prepare and motivate our OL.

Having a year to practice - and get even stronger - might really allow Derricks to really hit the ground running in 2004. Sure wish we could get him on the field this year, though.

Of course, I suppose we should wait until he actually comes to SMU before we start working out his practice schedule, right?
