Is this right?I count 9 seniors on next year's team. If I'm doing the math correctly that gives us 9 scholarships for next year. Is that correct? Or do we have less than 85 players on scholarship? How is it that almost all schools give out 25 scholarships each and every year? We would have to lose 16 players to get to 25 next year, assuming we have the full 85 on scholarship. Is this right?
Re: Is this right?Well, if we can only give out 23 this year, as some have reported, then I think we must be at or around 85.
On the bright side, we won't lose a lot of players at the end of the season. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Is this right? That's the optimistic way of looking at it, and at the moment, that's the way we have to look at it. But we need to free up some more scholarships somehow for next year.
Re: Is this right?dwe graduate our kids some other schools don't - that is why they can give 25 each year
Re: Is this right?I spoke to two seperate coaches since season end and they both said the team just got younger,quicker/faster and better. with next years real limit this year is even more important in that the coaches are recruiting for two years as we speak and not just one. the combination of last year and this year is the true future near term..
Re: Is this right?I count 10 guys (you may have forgotten Comet) coming back for their senior seasons. Broken down by position: 3 DB, 2 OL, 2 LB, 1 RB, 1 WR & 1 TE. Looks to me like this coaching staff is planning ahead in building a depth chart. Certainly a far cry from the Cavan years in terms of planning.
