Rivals is reporting what many of you have rumored. In a short article Rivals simply reports that he wants to meet with SMU's new OL Coach before he commits. Rivals also confirms the Rice commitment of Armstrong.

Stallion, i would take that as positive news. Without an o-line coach, he is still willing to wait. I still feel we will land the big rascal!

So...if Miller is the new coach as you reported below, can he and Bennett make an in-home visit to lock in the big guy? Or, are there rules limiting visits to just one coach? Will be interesting to see how they try to close the deal with Martin.
Somebody commented that UCF had a former schoolmate of Martin's and that might negate Denman being at SMU. As I recall that report, the UCF player is in his final year, whereas Martin and Denman have an opportunity to play together for 4 yrs at SMU. Advantage...Mustangs!

The guy that goes to UCF was at Martin's school when he was in 8th grade (redshirt).

Maybe we can help Kharylake Martin decide between SMU and Central Florida (as if there's really a decision to be made).
LOCATION
SMU: Dallas, one of the nicest cities in America
UCF: Orlando, where everything is driven by the tourism industry and the mayor wears a costume and answers to the name "Goofy"
Advantage: SMU
TRADITION
SMU: Founded in 1911
UCF: Founded (as Florida Tech) in 1963
Advantage: SMU
TEAM NICKNAME
SMU: Mustangs
UCF: Golden Knights
Advantage: Push
CONFERENCE
SMU: Western Athletic Conference
UCF: Atlantic Sun Conference (featuring such national powers as the Belmont Bruins, the Campbell Fighting Camels, the Florida Atlantic Owls, the Georgia State Panthers, the Jacksonville Dolphins, The Jacksonville State Gamecocks, the Lipscomb Bison, the Mercer Bears, the Samford Bulldogs, the Stetson Hatters and the Troy State Trojans)
Advantage: SMU (by a mile)
CONFERENCE BOWL TIE-INS
SMU: WAC has up to 3
UCF: Atlantic Sun Conference has 0
Advantage: SMU
BEST NFL PLAYER
SMU: Eric Dickerson
UCF: Daunte Culpepper
Advantage: SMU
SECOND-BEST NFL PLAYER
SMU: Forrest Gregg? Raymond Berry? Doak Walker? Kyle Rote? Dave Richards? Craig James? Michael Carter? Jerry Ball? Wes Hopkins? Russell Carter?
UCF: You must be kidding, right?
Advantage: SMU
OFF-CAMPUS ENTERTAINMENT
SMU: Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, Mavericks, Stars, Rangers, Cowboys, etc.
UCF: Going to watch SMU-ex Jeryl Sasser and the Orlando Magic suffer without Grant Hill, Disney World where Martin is too big to go on the rides and everything else is just boring and overpriced.
Advantage: SMU
DISTANCE FROM DAYTON, TEXAS
SMU: 269.33 miles (4 hours, 41 minutes to drive)
UCF: 997.17 miles (16 hours, 27 minutes to drive)
Advantage: SMU
Is there really a choice here? Come on board, Kharylake!

Mustangs is a way better name than Golden Knights (sounds like a lunch buffett).
I think UCF is now in the MAC, which is about to fold due to poor attendance.
2nd best pro player: modern era, Wes Hopkins or Jerry Ball. Prior to modern era would be Doak who who lead Detroit to their I believe last NFL title back in the 50s when he went all...the ...way...for a TD to win the game. Dandy Don for the 60s.

The MAC is a stronger conference than the WAC...lol. Give UCF some credit here...they came out of NOWHERE. Also take a look at USF...they'll be in CUSA next year and should be giving TCU plenty of fits
