JaQuan Lyle, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Bosse High School, has been offered a scholarship to play basketball by Southern Methodist University. SMU is the 10th NCAA Division I school to offer Lyle a scholarship, joining Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Xavier, Michigan State, Ohio State, Louisville, Kansas State and Providence. Bosse coach Shane Burkhart said new SMU coach Larry Brown is intrigued by Lyle's ability to play multiple positions. "He's excited to get into the recruiting process," Burkhart said. Lyle also is ranked No. 15 nationally in the Class of 2014 Prospect Ranking by Rivals.com. He averaged 16.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists in helping lead Bosse to a Class 3A semistate berth and a 23-5 record.
