Michael Milton

Dallas Morning News player of the week on page 15B. 6'6" senior swingman from Plano is averaging 21.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He broke the school's single game scoring record with 41 points in a 79-59 win over Plano East. He has scored in double figures in every game except for a 5 point effort against Lancaster. He's able to shoot from the perimeter and handle things inside when necessary. "I always wanted my game to be versatile," Milton said. "I'm a big guard and I can take advantage of who's defending me. I can use my speed if it's somebody slower or if the guy is smaller, I can use my height."

Milton hopes his versatile game leads to a Division I scholarship. SMU, Texas A$M, and Colorado State have offered. Texas Tech and Fresno State have come calling. Plano Coach Inman said he took a call from Tech coach Bob Knight on his cell phone. "It was like the Pope calling you," Inman said.

Careful, MM - that Knight character is a flash in the pan. He has no future in this game!

(Seriously, though - Lubbock over Dallas? No contest!)
