WAC Recruiting

Recruiting over at TCU has been pretty quiet for a few weeks. I have to think that we have gotten some players that without our new recruiting policy would have gone to TCU. BTW has anyone noticed how well Rice is doing in recruiting? They may be the surprise team in WAC recruiting, just behind SMU. They just got a decommit from Baylor, a player away from Stanford another from K-State. Anything new on Derricks and Schlegel(sp)?

Schlegel, according to ESPN, is not talking to SMU.

We have had a pretty good pipeline from the AF Academy with Luke Johnson and the O'Neil brothers. Wonder why Schlegel is not looking at us. Maybe the coaches think DD Lee this year and then Zach Hall will be able to fill the MLB spot.

I can't believe that we wouldn't be interested in him... has to be his decision. Even though we have 3 good LBs coming in next year, i think this guy would warrant moving someone else to another position or even switching to a 3-4 down the road if all of the new guys develop.

We won't switch to a 3-4 defense, but trust me, we are interested and we've been in contact with him. I'd say it's a longshot, but we're not entirely out of the picture.

Schlegel is now being recruiting nationally but TCU may have as good a shot as anyone according to that SI article.

I can confirm that we are, for sure, talking to Schlegal. But whether or not he's listening is another matter.

Probably a longshot as DallasDiehard said.

It may be only two linebackers, at least initially. I read on Insiders that Cory Muse liked Oklahoma State as much as SMU, but committed to SMU because we promised to try him out at tight end.

I heard that they already had an abundance of players at LB and TE or the players they do have at those positions are already very good. I infered from previous statements that his decision was based on playing time. By that I don't mean this season but it could mean this season. I may be wrong , but someone quoted a guy off of the Cowboys forum and that's what he said.

Speaking of TCU, they lost 2 DBs to Louisiana Lafayette in the last week. They are pretty upset about it on the Toad board. Funny stuff. Looks like the Toads aren't having quite the recruiting season they expected. Too bad.

Awwww, what a shame.

As talented as Cory Muse is, isn't he a little small for TE? I think he'd be better-suited at OLB, or even moving to safety, if he's as fast as advertised.

If TCU lost them to Louisiana Laffeyette-in all probability they are non-qualifiers that couldn't afford to pay for TCU.
