When Exactly does the Signing Period Begin?

Is it February 5th at 12:00.01 am EST?
Does the time zone of the school or player signing matter? Just curious.

I too have wondered about the exact time. Most of the highlights you see of recruits signing is at their high schools early in the morning. However, I can't state for certain about a time mandate on that stuff.

I believe it is 8:00 a.m.

Coaches will see their FAX machines roar to life right at 8:00 tomorrow morning.

So does that mean at 8:00am EST, 5:00am PST and 3:00 AM Hawaii time tomorrow, players can begin signing.
Or is it 8:00am local time for the particular school (that we be an unfair advantage to eastern-time zone schools) or is it 8:00am local time for the particular athlete?
Finally, what if the kid doesn’t have access to a fax machine?
