tomorrow from Bennett? I know some of you were talking about a recruit that was being kept on the QT and someone posted news/speculation that the coaches wanted off the board. What's the story???

There will be at least 1 suprise, and it will make a lot of the posters on this board happy.

It is my opinion that our great recruiting class is already a suprise. It is kind of like that birthday feeling. We have two great quarterbacks, a great running back, several outstanding cornerbacks and offensive lineman. In addition, several of our recruits were sought after by many other successful football programs, unlike in years past. When we start winning football games and going to bowl games, we are really going to make noise in recruiting. Although this is arguable, we have an equal or better class than TCU and they have been to several bowl games recently. Imagine the talent we will get with a bowl under our belt. In years past, recruiting season always brought the TCU posters to talk trash about how great their recruits are and how bad ours are....not this year!!! With respect to several posts about other WAC schools who take partial qualifiers, who cares. I would not trade one of our recruits for any partial qualifier. I like that we go after student athletes and do not sacrifice our academic integrity for a few football players who should not be in school due to grades/test scores. We tried to get questionable recruits under Cavan and everyone of them backfired. They did not play much and failed out of school. Wednesday should be a great day for SMU Football. I will see everyone Wednesday night. Go Mustangs!!!

Correction: We got 2 excellent running backs!

Further correction - we have THREE excellent running backs. Massey, Turner and Dorsey were all tremendous HS players, and have the potential to excel at the college level. Both Turner and Dorsey want the chance to try running back before they entertain the idea of another position.

UNFMustang...I wish I'd met you while you were a student here...We need more like you!!! Sometimes I feel like I'm the only kid here who gives a damn about SMU football. Thanks for the support abroad though! Good luck at UNF!

Hope this year's "Big Signing Day Surprise' is a little better than the "Big Surprise" of 2003 . . .

This seems to happen every year - I will believe it when I see it . . .

Remember the jt mantra, no expectations. How long will it take for folks to learn that?
