Mustangs Sign 23 Prep Standouts
Bennett Hauls in Best SMU Class in 15 Years
DALLAS, TEXAS - SMU football coach Phil Bennett signed 23 high school standouts to national letters of intent on Wednesday morning. The signing class, made up of 20 players from Texas, two from Oklahoma and one from Georgia, is considered the best at SMU in the last 15 years. Ten of the 23 players that signed are considered Rivals100.com three-star prospects and 16 members of the class earned some sort of All-State honors during their prep career.
Bennett will hold a signing day news conference at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Stadium Club (Level 3) of Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
