Luca Bruno

Off the table. Committed to Arizona of all places. He was the most talented 2013 DT I thought we had the best chance of getting (he also plays for a high school close to me so I was going to go to a few games and report on him). But, oh well. Moving on. His loss.

I see DT as biggest 2013 need followed closely by CB (always big needs, I know, but ...)

Go see him--wear your SMU gear...both recruiting sites are reporting that he is planning to come to a game here in Dallas this year and we are in a virtual tie with them. There is still a very good chance that he might switch his commitment. Arizona pressured him to commit as their class was almost full. But, well Arizona is going to be near the bottom of the PAC for some time.

I hope he comes to the aTm game or the TCU game when the stands will be full.

I wear my SMU gear at every home game, and a few roadies each year.

I think ojaipony is in CA where he can go see Bruno play some high school football games if they are not too far away.

I hope we make him an offer he can't refuse.

Thanks, MexMustang, I will. He plays for Oak Park and that school plays AT Nordhoff High School (the high school in my little town here) so I will for sure go to that game with all my SMU gear on and report back here what I see. They play 10/12. Good talent here just north of L.A. (Simi Valley, Camarillo, Ventura, Santa Barbara, etc). Not as good as L.A./Orange County, but not bad.

I try to watch all our SMU games in a crowded sports bar around here with all my SMU gear on. ;-)

I'm going to his game tonight dressed head to toe in SMU gear.

I'm sure my presence will get him to switch. ;-)

Sounds good. Let us know how it goes.

Is it a recruiting violation to wear a shirt that says "Official SMU Scout" to a high school football game? If we all would start wearing them, we'd look like we have a huge recruiting coverage area all over the country and that way our coaches can work on their golf.

That would probably be a bit too much.

Yeah, I'm not going to take the guy's family out to dinner or anything. I'm not even going to talk to him, but if he looks my way coming onto/off the field or something (the stands are pretty far back from the field), I'll give him the pony ears and SMU chant for sure! ;-)

Just got back from the game. Got his attention coming back onto the field after halftime and yelled SMU! with the pony ears and got a quick glance.

Overall, my assessment: meh. Kind of surprised he's a 3 star (Stallion's star inflation in effect methinks). He did nothing for me. We are not missing out. Did not look 6'4".

Thanks, I think they listed him at 6'3.
