Interesting Tidbits

the most interesting and reassuring information I found from the prospectus was Gary Oliver's opinion that QB Chris Phillips was the most accurate passer he has had but he suffered from injuries to his best two receivers and dropped passes. I don't think he coached both of the recent star QB recruits from Bishop Lynch(?) but the last QB he coached was about a 4 star QB who is at UT right now-correct? Forgot his name. I've been concerned about the passing accuracy of Phillips because he appears to have all the other tools he needs to be outstanding. This makes me even more sure we got a helluva prospect in Phillips.

Actually, Coach Oliver did work with the big QB at Texas - Matt Nordgren. He said that Phillips is MUCH faster as a runner and more instinctive overall. He's not as big as Nordgren, but his arm is at least as strong, according to his coach, and he's very creative — his coach said he can improvise and get himself out of trouble by running or eluding the rush long enough to locate a new receiver.

I like the fact that the short CBs who can really run — McGee, Moss, etc. — all said how much they love to hit. They're not going to "go Deion" and rely only on blazing speed to cover. Sounds like they're ready to lay some people out.
