Derricks to Sam Houston St

...according to Texas Football. You know for the life of me I can't understand why all these kids are willing to get a decree a Second Rate St University just so they can play a year earlier. The kid was smart enough to go to Jesuit, Northwestern and now he settles for a degree from Sam Houston St. Big Mistake on the Road of Life!

he can still transfer from there to a 1-a without having to sit out, no? The answer is they all think they are good enough to go pro - when only about 2% really are.

No. You can transfer down from I-A to I-AA without sitting out a year, but you can't go laterally or up from I-AA to I-A. The reason behind the rule is pretty simple. If the BCS schools could "cherry pick" those who demonstrated they were studs at I-AA (Dexter Coakley comes to mind), don't you think they would jump on that opportunity?
