Hornfans.com is reporting that his HS coach thinks he will be more highly recruited than Justin Warren who signed w/ A&M and was a national top 100 for Tyler Lee last year. Someone on this board reported he has interest in SMU. Is this pure ponyfans.com sunshine dreams or this confirmed by a reliable source?

From what I've heard, he has interest. SOME interest. But that's by no means suggesting he's headed to SMU. From what I understand, he's still wide-open. I've read nothing to suggest we have an inside track on this kid.

seriously about all you can look at this early is interest generally for a school. Each player will change his list of schools 20 times until the time when the coaches get to decide who gets offers and visits. He is on Rivals list as interested in SMU but it essentially means next to nothing at this point unless there is an unusually strong historical connection between a school and a recruit.

Now look guys, you know Nic was my teammate last year and I still talk to him every day. As a matter of fact I talked to him today and I always throw a little question about recruiting in the mix. Nic is a real down to earth guy and all of that big school, longhorn,UT stuff wont effect him a whole lot. This is from the mouth of Redwine (who we refer to as being well aged)himself "Smu is defenitly on my list." So keep your hopes up while keeping the whole "recruiting game" in perspective, he may end up a Mustang.

Insiders is reporting that Redwine is considering only UT and A&M now. But I hear he might be at the Red/Blue scrimmage in April. Hopefully the coaches can get his attention.Z

What we need right now more than anything is to start winning some games we're not "supposed to". Until this team can prove we CAN win at SMU, it's going to be tough to get a lot of guys interested.
Just as important, WHEN these guys start winning, I hope some of our "fans" will come out of hiding and support the program again. It would definitely help recruiting if we could show these guys they will be playing in front of a packed Ford Stadium (or Moody Coliseum for that matter) with fans who appreciate their hard work.

What's the story on this guy now? I've been reading a little and only seeing UT and Texas A&M mentioned. Has he scratched us off his list already?

Maybe SMUcommitt can help us out with an update here?

Apparently we're making some headway here - one recruiting site that had been listing him as being interested in Texas and Texas A&M only now has him listing SMU, LSU and TCU, as well. I'd guess Aggies and Horns are still the leaders. For now.
